David Foubert returns permanently to Northeast – available for stage and film in NY/NJ/PA

In October 2024, stage and screen actor David Foubert and his wife (game developer and author Cheryl Platz) relocated permanently to Pennsylvania from their home of three years in Los Angeles. David is actively auditioning in the tri-state area as a proud AEA and SAG-AFTRA member, and can be reached directly at david@davidfoubert.com for regional, off-Broadway, and Broadway inquiries as well as voice-over and film opportunities or to inquire about potential representation.

Within 2 weeks of taking residence in PA, David booked two background engagements through Netflix, one of which turned into an onscreen cameo in Happy Gilmore 2 during the Gold Jackets scene with Adam Sandler and Ed Kelce. David is also now a regular part of the overhire staff at the legendary Bucks County Playhouse between auditions and performances. Market conditions in Los Angeles did not allow for David’s family to fully pursue their crafts, and within weeks of relocation to the Northeast a fruitful new chapter had begun.

Highlights from David’s Work

Biography update

David’s return to the Northeast marks a return to the market where he is known best – he has spent over a decade performing onstage at the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, and in the New York market worked with legendary directors like Moritz von Stuelpnagel. David received his MFA from the University of Delaware’s PTTP program and spent years in a fruitful regional and national touring career based in the New York/New Jersey market. However, David left the New York market in 2010 and returned to his hometown in Tacoma, Washington to care for his mother during her struggle with terminal dementia, during which time he met his wife, Cheryl Platz, in an Equity Member Code project they starred in together in Seattle called September Skies. David and Cheryl remained in Seattle until 2021, when a job offer took Cheryl to Los Angeles. They remained for 3 years, during which time David studied acting and voiceover while working as overhire staff at the legendary Geffen Playhouse and occasionally returning to the East Coast to perform. In 2024, facing a turning point in their respective industries, Cheryl and David decided to leave Los Angeles to give David the opportunity to reconnect to the people and stages he had left a decade prior. Both are thriving in their new chapter, with David actively performing in both film and stage while working as crew at Bucks County Playhouse as his wife splits her time bicoastally between their Pennsylvania home and her work as a Creative Director in the video game industry in Seattle.
